What experience or level of fitness do I need?
We welcome anyone, regardless of their rowing experience. Whether you’re a complete beginner needing an introduction or an experienced rower seeking coaching and training, we’ve got you covered. You do need to be capable of a good physical exercise, but don’t worry, being super-fit isn’t necessary. We’ll work with you at your level, ensuring you enjoy the experience without any undue pressure.
Can Children join in?
We can't accept anyone under 18 at the moment.
What shall I wear?
Wear comfortable clothes suitable for sport, like jogging bottoms or leggings—jeans are definitely not ideal. Bring layers, a water-resistant jacket, and a dry bag which could just be a sandwich bag at this stage!
Do I need to row competitively?
You can row as much or as little as you like, whether it’s socially or competitively.
Do I need my own transport?
We’re just a short walk away from Newhaven train station. We also try to car share whenever possible, so do let us know if you need any help with travel arrangements.
How often of you go out?
We have several rows each week, with sessions in the early morning, late evening, during the day, and at weekends. However, our schedule is somewhat at the mercy of the weather, so we occasionally have to cancel due to bad conditions.
